The following is an E-Mail from BMFA Northern Area inviting modellers to apply to exhibit their models at the National Model Engineering and Modelling Exhibition from the 20th to the 22nd of May this year. Please read the email for all details.
Dear Club Secretaries,
The BMFA Northern Area has kindly been allocated a stand at the forthcoming National Model Engineering and Modelling Exhibition to be held at the racecourse and exhibition centre in Doncaster www.thedoncastershow.com.
The provision of this stand provides a showcase for our members to provide a static display of model aircraft of all types from modellers within the Northern Area. For those who have not attended this event before (previously held at the Harrogate Showground) I can personally vouch is an event well worth attending as it encompasses the whole spectrum of model engineering, of which our hobby is an integral part.
The stand we are allocated allows us table space shown below, not huge but still useable, plus and an area of floor space to be confirmed. The public will be cordoned off from the tables so touching of the exhibits will not be an issue and security patrols 24 hours a day.
We believe there may be space for around 30 exhibits dependant on size. It would be nice to get a good cross section of all the types of flying carried out across the area as the event provides the opportunity to engage with the public and perhaps encourage some to take up the hobby. Who knows.
All applications to display have to be received before the 28th March 2016.
Whilst on display the models will be fully insured therefore is will be necessary to provide details of Your name the name of the model and its value.
The Show Dates for 2016 are Friday 20th through to Sunday 22nd May (setup day Thursday 19th May)
The models will need to be dropped off on Thursday 19th and collected after the show on Sunday the 22nd
